OPEN LETTER TO THE PHILIPPINE NATIONAL POLICE

On MCGI's Questionable Donations to the PNP

In recent years, MCGI, through its front charity arm MCGI Cares and its broadcast network UNTV, has made high-profile donations to various police units across the country.

While presented as acts of “public service,” the timing and consistency of these contributions tell a more troubling story.

It is no coincidence that these publicized acts of generosity often coincide with periods when MCGI faces internal scandal, public scrutiny, or regulatory attention ranging from labor exploitation complaints to financial irregularities in the Philippines and abroad.

Collapse as a Healing Narrative

The Post-MCGI Society frames MCGI’s ongoing collapse—its financial decline, shrinking membership, and weakening doctrinal authority—as a healing narrative for survivors. When an abusive system loses its power, former members often experience relief, clarity, and emotional release, because the source of their trauma is no longer able to impose guilt, fear, or control. This platform helps survivors understand why witnessing institutional decay can be therapeutic, why the fault was never theirs, and how collective storytelling, counternarratives, and shared truth-telling accelerate both personal and communal recovery. Healing begins at the moment the system that harmed you begins to fall—and grows stronger as its grip continues to break.
