CEBU CITY, Philippines — Post-MCGI Society held its first formal plenum on Dec. 30 to 31, 2025 in Cebu City, with representatives attending from different parts of the Philippines and delegates from Australia and North America joining online.
Organizers said this was the group’s first plenum since its founding on May 1, 2025.
The plenum elected a new editorial board. Rosa Rosal was elected as part of the new board. Delegates also deliberated the group’s manifesto titled “Promote the Two-Stage Exit Strategy. Educate the Laborers. Force the Crisis. Exit the System.”
Alongside leadership and policy decisions, Post-MCGI Society said it will reformat its social media pages and website to reflect the changes agreed on during the plenum, including updated editorial direction and revised framing across its published materials.
The group also reported renewed coordination efforts with labor groups and members of the academe, aimed at strengthening its research base and expanding reach among working-class communities and professionals.
A new Mothers Committee was also formed, personally led by Rosa Rosal, which the group said will focus on outreach to mothers inside MCGI, including Mothers’ Club members who they say face routine exploitation through unpaid work and constant demands.
Delegates further said they deliberated an updated analysis of MCGI as a modern-day slavery system and acknowledged past errors in strategy and content direction. The group announced a rewritten version of “The Great Collapse,” describing it as a revision shaped by new research and collective deliberation during the plenum..
