MASS EXODUS ROCKS MCGI AS LONGTIME GROUP SERVANTS, AND WORKERS, PUBLICLY DENOUNCE DANIEL RAZON’S CORRUPT LEADERSHIP

A series of high-profile resignations has shaken the Members Church of God International (MCGI), revealing deep fractures within the group once led by Bro. Eli Soriano and now under Daniel Razon.

U.S. Pioneer Worker and Choir Member Bids Farewell

Bro. Ace Abalos, a pioneer MCGI Church Worker in the United States and a member of the elite Metro Manila Choir, announced his and his family’s departure from the organization.

“I did not leave out of hate, I left out of hope,” Abalos declared—now a rallying quote among disillusioned members online.

In a post shared by former MCGI worker Jr. Badong:

“Hindi kami umalis sa pananampalataya namin sa aming Panginoong Hesu Kristo! Umalis kami dahil binababoy na ng kasalukuyang pamunuan ng iglesia ang pananampalataya sa P. Hesu Kristo!”

Old photos of Abalos with both Daniel Razon and Eli Soriano underscore his long history within the group, making his exit a symbolic blow to MCGI’s moral authority.

Following his statement, reports confirmed the exits of other veteran members including Bro. Ferdinand Sonje and Bro. Sammy, both former Group Servants in Hong Kong—further signaling a growing international backlash against what many call “systemic hypocrisy and corruption.”

ANYTIME SOON ERA WORKER GRACE EVANGELISTA ALSO LEAVES

Another veteran worker, Grace Evangelista, baptized in 1999 and a graduate of the 2000–2001 Seminarian Batch, also announced her departure after more than two decades of service.

Evangelista belonged to the “Anytime Soon Era”—a period when members were pressured to abandon studies and careers under the belief that the world would end imminently. When this prophecy faded, Bro. Eli Soriano introduced the “1,000 Years Rule,” marking a shift from apocalyptic urgency to lavish material expansion through ventures such as:

  • KDRAC (Kuya Daniel Razon Adventure Camp)

  • Wish FM & Wish Bus Media

  • Area 52 Night Club

  • Salut RestoBar

Once considered MCGI’s theological backbone, this generation has now become its strongest wave of dissent. Many reject Razon’s “Lugaw Theology” and performative charity, saying their exit is not rebellion—but a return to reason, principle, and conscience.

FORMER BAMBANG DEACON JOINS THE EXODUS

In yet another blow to the organization, Bro. Joel Alfonso, former deacon of the Bambang Locale (West District, Metro Manila), publicly resigned, condemning what he described as a “culture of deceit.”

“Ayaw ko ng maging opisyal dahil hindi kaya ng sikmura ko na magpaakay sa mangangaral na sinungaling,” Alfonso wrote in his post.

His statement, shared by Jr. Badong, was praised by many as an act of integrity.

“Salamat sa Dios sa inyong paninindigan para sa katotohanan,” Badong commented, emphasizing that Alfonso’s move reflects renewed faith—not loss of it.

A GLOBAL FRACTURE

From the Philippines to the U.S., Hong Kong, and the UAE, longtime workers, deacons, and choir members are severing ties with MCGI.

Observers describe this as the biggest internal revolt in the church’s modern history—a movement once built on fear and obedience now imploding under its own corruption and hypocrisy.
