Bizarre Circumstances Surround Felipe Razon’s Death: Possible Foul Play?

Updated: Nov 2

The mysterious death of Felipe Razon Jr., uncle of current MCGI leader Daniel Razon, continues to raise serious questions within and beyond the MCGI community. What was initially reported as a case of electrocution has since taken a disturbing turn due to several bizarre circumstances surrounding the incident.

Just days before his untimely death, Felipe Razon Jr. went live on the MCGI Exiters YouTube channel to expose MCGI’s corruption, revealing founder Eli Soriano’s immoral acts, the land-grabbing schemes involving his brother Dan Razon (father of current leader and UNTV head Daniel Razon), and the alleged sexual relationship between Dan Razon and Bro. Eli Soriano. He hinted that more details were about to be revealed, but he was gone before he could speak further.

According to witnesses, the elder Razon and his wife were both found dead inside their flood-stricken home despite a blackout in the area. With no active power supply nearby, the official claim of electrocution seemed implausible. The only functioning power source within the vicinity at that time was MCGI’s UNTV broadcast van, which, curiously, was also the first on the scene before a baranggay ambulance.

UNTV, broadcast arm of MCGI was the first to report the incident and ruled electrocution before medico-legal findings.

Even more suspicious is the fact that UNTV aired the incident live, reportedly around 11:00 a.m., just an hour after it allegedly occurred. Observers noted how the network appeared unusually prepared to cover a local tragedy in real time, long before police or medical responders arrived.

It’s worth noting that the 2023 Palakol hacking incident, which occurred inside an MCGI chapel, was never formally reported by UNTV. In contrast, the electrocution incident involving Felipe Razon was broadcasted live by UNTV barely an hour after it allegedly happened, raising questions about how the network was already on-site before official responders arrived.

Adding to the intrigue, Felipe Razon had recently gone public on the MCGI Exiters YouTube channel, where he accused MCGI founder Eli Soriano and Dan Razon, father of current leader and UNTV head Daniel Razon, of grave misconduct. His expose detailed corruption, land-grabbing, and alleged sexual improprieties within the organization. In what would be his final broadcast, Felipe Razon hinted that he possessed documents and testimonies that would expose even more damaging truths.

He never got the chance.

Only days after making those claims, he was found dead under circumstances too coincidental to ignore. For many former MCGI members, the sequence of events paints a troubling picture, one that suggests the possibility of foul play and deliberate silencing.

An enraged Daniel Razon, MCGI leader, delivers his infamous remark "Pitiful to kill, infuriating to keep alive” which many critics interpret as a veiled threat toward MCGI Exiters and outspoken critics of the organization.

The contrast between this case and the 2023 Palakol hacking incident is striking. The Palakol event, which took place inside an MCGI chapel, was never formally reported by UNTV, despite its severity. Yet in Felipe Razon’s case, the same network was already positioned to broadcast his death live, fueling speculation that his demise was neither random nor accidental.

Adding another layer of concern are Daniel Razon’s recent high-profile donations to the Philippine National Police and law enforcement agencies, a move publicly branded as “charitable,” but which some critics interpret as a strategic shield for institutional protection. Could these gestures be a preemptive investment in influence, designed to deter scrutiny or ensure leniency amid growing controversies within MCGI?

MCGI's high-profile donations to the Police
MCGI’s Daniel Razon has made a series of high-profile donations to the police—moves widely seen as strategic investments in protection and influence amid growing questions about the group’s potential legal liabilities.

As questions mount and no formal investigation appears to be underway, many are left wondering whether Felipe Razon’s death was a tragic accident or a premeditated act meant to bury the truth he was about to reveal.
