Who Am I?
Yes, I am a CLOSET—a brother carrying silent doubts and lingering questions about faith. For nearly three decades, I have been part of the Members Church of God, International (MCGI). I have seen and experienced so much, and I would not have remained if I did not truly believe. I once held significant roles in the Church, serving with joy and devotion—until recent days.
When Brother Eli passed away on February 10, 2021, I was among those who said, “MAY RAZON PARA MAGPATULOY.” I placed my trust in Kuya Daniel Razon, believing he would continue the mission with the same fervor, if not greater. I held on to the promise that the spirit guiding Brother Eli would now move through him. But over time, that hope began to wane. His teachings have shifted, centering only on love and good deeds, while deeper truths have been set aside.
Under his leadership, I have grown more reflective, more aware. I once stood firm in the belief that we held the truth, but now I understand—just as Israel once fell from grace, so too can God withdraw His presence from those who turn away from Him. A leader’s faithfulness determines the path of his people. Unlike Timothy, who remained steadfast in Paul’s teachings, I see a wavering that weighs heavily on my heart.
Brethren, I ask you to pause and reflect. This is not a challenge but a plea—to awaken, to remember. Brother Eli never taught us to follow blindly. He taught us to think, to question, to seek understanding. Yet, certain teachings we once held dear have been disregarded.
We were once told to store treasures in heaven, not on earth. But now, wealth and business ventures have taken root, growing in the hands of those who still ask for more offerings. How do we reconcile this with the principles of humility and selflessness we were taught?
We labored to build UNTV and Wish FM, believing they would serve as instruments to spread God’s Word. But what have they become? Concerts, awards, entertainment—worldly indulgences dressed as charity. Is this truly the mission we sacrificed for?
You preach love, yet you turn away brethren who question, casting them aside with disdain. If we cannot love those within our fold, how can we claim to love our enemies? I have witnessed the humiliation of those who dared to seek answers, and it has shaken my faith.
You claim that only MCGI’s works are legitimate while others’ are deemed “colorum.” But Christ Himself said, “I was hungry and you gave me food.” Can we truly condemn the good deeds of others? Do we dare claim wisdom greater than our Lord’s?
A true preacher listens, answers, and seeks the lost. But now, the attitude is “MAKE MY DAY”—as if losing brethren is of no concern. Where is the shepherd’s heart?
What of the properties built by our brethren’s sacrifices—KDRAC, Brazil, and beyond? Why are they now personal assets? Didn’t we build them together?
Brother Eli said his teachings were enough for salvation—that the videos would guide us. So why are they now hidden? Why are we constantly asked for more contributions, while every AVP keeps the spotlight on a man, not the message?
Preaching the gospel should be the priority, not nationwide tours at the brethren’s expense. Paul said, “We did not become a burden to you, but sought you.” But now, the burden is on the people, while others reap the benefits.
Is it true that alcohol was sold at SALUT and AREA 52? There are pictures, videos—why not simply give a clear answer? Why the silence?
When Brother Eli was here, even the smallest concerns were addressed. Now, questions are met with silence. And silence, in itself, speaks volumes.
We all falter—that is human. But remaining in the wrong leads to ruin. Covering the truth will never bring true prosperity. If love and faithfulness are truly what we teach, let them be reflected in our actions.
Pray for us, as we will for you. We only seek to serve God with a pure heart and to walk in the light of His truth.
